Wall Art

I'm always looking for really cool things to fill up HUGE walls, it seems we have an over abundance of big walls in our house. I saw this and thought maybe I could do this!

I saw it on Not So Idle Hands
There is no tutorial or anything, So I don't know how to go about making this. Any suggestions?

    I have seen tutorials for those on all sorts of blogs. I just can't remember where!
