Simple {Halloween} Advent Calendar

 {Halloween Advent Calendar}

This is really just a method, so it can be applied to any holiday or season or event.

I went to Zurcher's and bought black and white chevron treat bags 

(The really small ones so I could fit them all on 1 string).

I cut out black numbers and orange circles on my Cameo.

I assembled with candy and hung the bags on some bakers twine.

*Tip* 

I did not glue the circles to the bag: 

When my girls take a bag down everyday the circle with the number stays up so we can still see the whole month of numbers. Also, I wanted to reuse my numbers/circles for next year.

Halloween Paper Cone Wreath

Time to start putting up all my Halloween decorations!

I went to a local boutique store and saw a really cute Halloween paper cone wreath.

I snapped a picture on my phone and then went home and made a list of items I needed.

A few things I learned from my first paper cone wreath:

1. Use cardboard as the base not a wreath form (the hot glue was melting my wreath form.

2. Get LOTS of glue sticks.

Here are the elements I used:

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the black card stock. 

Then I just added my elements to it. They came in my Halloween paper pack.

Gardner Village

At the first of October (while it was still 80 degrees outside) I got a babysitter for the baby and me and my oldest daughter went on a date to Gardner Village.

This is the first year I thought she would appreciate all the fun decorating and stuff that they do for Halloween.

We went into a bunch of the stores and had lunch at the little cafe/bakery there.

She posed with a bunch of the witches but particularly loved the one that was lifting up her skirt to show cats running around under there!

Gardner Village is a historic flour mill dating to the mid 1800's and the Mill that is still there running was putt in around 1870's. There are many buildings with shops on the property, a reception/gathering hall, restaurant, area for animals, a stream running through the middle. The types of shops that you can find here are quilt shop, fabric shop, doll shop, day spa, candy shop, kids boutique, furniture store, and in general everything a woman enjoys can be found here! Perfect for GNO or lunch dates with your friends.

Halloween Bead Board Sign

A few ladies and I in my area have started a craft group.

We get together once a month'ish and 1 person is in charge of putting together a craft for all of us to do.

We had our first one last week and I was in charge.

I had a bunch of bead board left over from our bathroom projects so I wanted to do something with that.

I found my idea from Brown Paper Packages but I knew that we could dress it up a bit more than she had. So I had my husband pre-cut the wood ahead of time and then I just gathered all my supplies that we could possibly need.

I set up tables out in my garage (which was awesome because the kids could just play outside while we crafted). We painted our boards black and then everyone just took all sorts of directions from there!

Look at all that craftiness going on!

My Final Project

Spooky Pale Green

Have you heard of the Dr. Suess book called "What Was I Scared Of?"

That's what I thought of when I was doing this quick and easy project today.

I bought this twine'y pumpkin last year on clearance at Target. It was only like $2 and it definitely was not very attractive. It had foam berries on it and the berries had exploded so the foam was showing through, plus it was seriously lopsided. But bought it I did!

I hacked of the berry things and I was thinking I wanted to spray paint it the "spooky pale green" color from the Dr. Suess book.

I found Krylon's Avocado color was a perfect fit!

And, I like the lopsidedness because it give it a more 'spooky' flair to it.
