Fall Sign and Front Porch

Another Pinterest project here...Thats seems to be what makes up most of my projects these days. I see something darling on Pinterest and then I hack it for myself.

Here's the Pin that inspired this project.

And here's my version:

Cedar Pickets from Lowe's nailed to some scrap wood on the back.

(All of my photos were taken with my phone, I apologize)

 

 Painted base coat white, then slapped on some green in a few spots.

Then squirted on some brown craft paint straight from the bottle and just smoothed it out, then covered with a tan'ish cream color on the top. 

(I started paint the tan color over the brown before I got that picture with the brown on, So the corner is what it looked like before the tan color)

 

Used my Silhouette to cut out vinyl stencils for the words.

Adhering the stencil was AWFUL. 

The wood was to "dirty" so it was sliding around everywhere but I survived.

*All my paint I had on hand, I did not buy anything but the wood*

 Added to my porch!

I can't wait to add my pumpkins and gourds!

Fall Wreath

I'm sharing my Fall Wreath that I recently made!

I started with the Straw Wreath Form that I actually bought at Salvation Army for $3!!

A serious steal!

It's super big which I love, Like 18" across.

 I bought this burlap stuff at Hobby Lobby in the reupholstering section.  I LOVE it so much. The material is thick with red striping in it but it does have some sort of chemical treatment that makes it slightly stinky.

I started wrapping it up. Simple. No instructions there.

Then I just chose my Fall things to dress it up with:

wheat sheaths (found at Hob Lob), red tulle, red Christmas berries, some raffia.

Really whatever you have on hand!

 

Great tip**  To prevent the wreath hanger from scratching my door, I attached a piece of felt normally used to prevent chairs from scratching wood floors.

Autumn Fun

The Children's Nest had this cute post showing great Halloween or Autumn crafts. Halloween is almost over and we are 4 weeks away from Thanksgiving. Lots to do in between now and then.

Witch Legs

( ARE YOU DYING AT THE CUTENESS HERE!!!!)
Your kids will love this wickedly wild coconut-topped cupcake, with wacky witch's legs made from peppermint sticks.
To make it, follow these steps:
1. Start with frosted store-bought or homemade cupcakes.2. Use black marzipan to make the shape of the witch's boots.3. Stick yellow mini M&Ms on each boot for the buckles with frosting.4. Mold each boot around a peppermint stick to create the legs.5. Top cupcake with coconut dyed with green food coloring.6. Insert the peppermint sticks into the cupcake to create the witch's legs.

SO CUTE AND SIMPLE TO MAKE!!

Bare Bones

These skeleton-inspired cupcakes create a spooky Halloween treat.
To make it, follow these steps:
1. Start with frosted store-bought or homemade cupcakes.2. Place a large candy mint on top of a chocolate frosted cupcake; decorate face with icing.3. Arrange licorice pastels to make arms and legs.4. Place small mints at the bottom of the legs for feet.5. Use white sprinkles to make the skeleton's ribs.

Tin Can Luminarias

HOW FUN IS THIS??? Not only is it cute for Fall but how cute to do it in bright colors for a birthday party!!!
Dotty Table Runner
With a layer of orange felt beneath, the dotted design on this table runner conjures the image of a field of pumpkins. The chocolate-brown felt top layer will carry you through the harvest season; use black felt for a traditional Halloween look. Trace circles of various sizes onto a length of dark-color felt; cut out. Layer the felt over a length of same-size orange felt. Secure the two layers with glue, if desired, and drape the runner over the table.

HOW FUN ARE THESE GOURDS!!

Suspend a group of gourds on a cord (we used bicolor spoon gourds) from tree branches and watch them dance in the breeze.

Dead & Breakfast

I purposely drive the long way out of my neighborhood so I can drive by a certain house that always is decked out in the latest holiday decor. I not talking gaudy "decked out" where it's like a car accident that you just can't turn away from I'm talking "How can I achieve the quality of holiday decor like them" It's the right proportion of decorations for there home, plus they have a B-U-TIFUL yard!

Here are the pictures, enjoy and maybe you can find some good ideas for you to do too! There is so much detail that I'm not sure if you can make out in these pictures. If you happen to live close by it's a MUST to drive by and see, also, I haven't seen it at night but know that things light up and I bet it's pretty spectacular at night too.

I love the cute picket fence on the inside of their yard, spooky garland hanging on it with great wreaths and candelabras.
Can you say a skeleton is gorgeous, well I think this one is. She is decked out in glitter and feathers, what could be better.








when I stopped by to talk to the man that lives here he said that everything is homemade except the skeletons. What outstanding people.
