Another Project for the List

My MIL gave me this chair to reupholster and put in one of my girls rooms. Isn't it really cute? It's really low to the ground, so it's a perfect chair for child.

 

I think when I reupholster it I will lose the skirt around the bottom, what do you think?

It has really nice legs on it.

Blog Feature - Lemon Tree Creations

I love the blog Lemon Tree Creations. They have 4 contributors that write on the blog and they are all amazing and crafty ladies. I've recently loved the Hello Kitty Birthday party that was put together. I am totally going to use a lot of those elements in my daughters birthday party in a couple weeks. Baby Boy Giftwrap

I had two friends have baby boys within the last couple weeks. I needed to deliver baby gifts and I wanted to have really cute wrapping.

I used my 2/1.00 brown gift bags (love these because they can be dressed up however and for any occasion).

I hot glued buttons onto the front on the bags.

I got some scrapbooking paper and used my Martha Stewart Punch for the edges.

I distressed the cards a bit. 

Used some twine to tie them onto the bags.

I thought they turned out really cute.

Formula Can UPcycle

I have been so excited about this project. One day I looked at the big Costco sized formula can I was throwing away and wondered what I could do with it. Couldn't think of anything so I chucked it. Then a couple cans later it came to me!! 

Storage bins for my utensils that were getting WAY overcrowded in their current state.

So I started saving up my cans.

Supplies:

Costco Formula Cans

Fabric of Choice

Glue

Fray Check

I originally wanted to cover the cans in scrapbooking paper but realized the paper didn't wrap all the way around the cans. So then I decided to go with fabric. I found my fabric at Joanns. I.LOVE.IT!

Steps:

• Measure cans and buy enough fabric for the amount of cans you are covering.
• Trim fabric to the correct amount (I used my rotary cutter and cutting mat.)
• Fray check your fabric because it will fray and that is not very clean and sleek looking. Let Dry.
• Once fray check is dry you can start gluing the fabric on the cans. I used E6000 glue but simply because I wanted to see how it would do. I thought maybe using hot glue might be bumpy under the fabric. The E6000 worked well. I let dry overnight.

So, you're done! Put your utensils in and enjoy.

I thought about putting some embellishment on them, but decided I liked the cleaner simple look.

I'm in love with the fabric pattern AND the color.

So what will you do with ALL those used formula cans?!?!

You could even do this with the smaller ones and put pencils or other art supplies in them. Also I had thought about covering the cans in a oil cloth material because it's right next to my stove and I know it will get splashed with grease and food but I couldn't find a cute oil cloth/vinyl fabric.

Movie Mania!

My almost 3 year old has become obsessed with Disney Princesses and Movies! She asks to watch them all day long and as soon as one is over she says "Try Again!"

We only own like 1 or 2 movies because she wasn't into movies before that so there was no need to buy any. I decided after watching Beauty and the Beast SEVERAL times that we needed a couple more for some variety. I clicked on one of those banners on somebodies website to the Disney Movie Club where you can buy 4 Disney movies for 25cents each! with 2 the option to get 2 additional movies at super discounted prices. I decided that I was just barely getting started in my Disney movie buying career so I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

Then we waited a couple weeks for this baby to arrive!

 And THIS, my friends, was the price ticket! $25 bucks for SIX Disney movies. and 6 really GOOD Disney movies. I just have to buy 4 more movies in the next 2 YEARS at regular price to meet my membership needs. I totally plan on being able to fulfill that need. I mean, you pay full price at other places like Costco and Walmart and Target....so I went here because of the perks.

And then they have an awesome program where you can refer friends to the Disney Movie Club and if your friends sign up through the email that gets sent to them from you then you get to choose a free movies for each friend that signs up. What a sweet deal.

If anyone wants to join for sure then let me know and I can send you the refer a friend email. 

I have been so happy with our purchases and so has my daughter. We've already watched them multiple times. Does that make me a bad mom??
