Valentine Mailboxes

I loved making a "Mailboxes" on Valentines Day when I was growing up.

My kids are too small to make one so I decided to make them and have them filled with treats and stuff on Valentines Day.

I bought the mailboxes at Hobby Lobby, they are made out of cardboard.

I went to a local specialty stationary store to by the vintage'y looking wrapping paper to mod podge on the outside. I mod podged the ends and the flags in red tissue paper, and then just added an initial for each child on the front. Simple!

{LOVE} Beadboard Sign

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought these cardboard letters.

Stuck push pins in the back of the letters to raise it off of the counter so I could paint them with out it sticking.

I had bought Martha Stewart paints at Michaels for this project.

The color palette I chose.

A look at the 'chippy' paint job. I used the soap trick to distress this paint project.

The finished product with the letters glued on with E6000 glue.

Can you see that the letters were painted in a 'pearl' finish paint. I love that look. A little sparkle in the paint.

I chose to put the sign on my entryway table.

Valentine Mobile UpCycle

My inspiration for this was 3 different pins:

&

So I got a lampshade from my mom, ripped all the paper off of it and there was just the frame left.

Then I just cut out strips of fabric from my scrap pile, just hot glued in a corner and then wrapped around the whole wire frame.

Then I cut out felt hearts from sheets of felt...I used my trusty AccuQuilt to do this part since it cuts out PERFECT hearts every time.

I also used a punch to cut out paper hearts. Sewed them in strips and hung them from the frame and then hung the whole thing with fishing line from my dining table.

My girls love this hanging in the dining room!
