Fabric Mending Tape

I don't buy expensive jeans very often...almost never, I'm a Old Navy kinda girl, But I bought a expensive pair about 4 months ago...They came distressed a little but I was starting to get a hole in the knee...The pants are only 4 months old!! So I stopped wearing them so they wouldn't keep wearing out. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought Fabric Mending Tape! Different from a Fabric Patch...The patches are pretty thick and even though you put it on the inside of your clothes the edges would still be noticable through the clothes because it's such a thick patch....So when I was there I saw Mending Tape! It's very thin and light weight...So I'm trying it and I think it will be perfect.

Outside of pants, wearing out in the knee

Inside of Pants: Wearing in the knee
Outside of Pants: wearing on the inside seam

Inside of Pants: Wearing on the seam
The pants came distressed a little but I don't want Holes!

 CHEAP solution!
Mending Tape ironed on the pants
The hole on the seam with the mending tape on the inside of the jeans, can't see Anything!

Organizing the Junk

I don't really have much storage space in my home. This is the "dump"

This was the only coat closest in our house that we turned into a shelved closest so we could stash "the junk" Can you tell???

I took everything out that needed a new home somewhere else, or no longer needed to be in this closest.

More organized now...still lots of stuff, but remember this is pretty much my only storage.
I was able to get my sewing machine and supplies in!
All the pink bucket of shoes are for my baby and toddler. The other shoes are my husbands biking shoes and helmet, golf shoes and other athletic shoes. I have 1 pair of tennis shoes there.
On the second shelf up there is a stack of "books" all that stuff is my daughters "Sunday/Church" activity stuff...Stuff that only gets played with in church so it doesn't become boring during the week.
The LARGE sterilite tub is full of just scrapbooking paper. I need to go through THAT!

The top tubs have ribbon, wrapping items, and cards, Tools, Batteries and Light bulbs all have their own individual tubs. My Camera bag is in there, an "Important Papers" tub, vacuum attachments, and the tiny drawer organizer holds things like paper clips, rubberbands, post it notes, tape, etc.
The stuff on the floor was taken out plus, Tons of stuff on the kitchen counters and dining room table. Must find another home!

SO Then I had to move to the Laundry room right next to the Closest!

I took all the stuff out that needed a new spot and adorned the walls with some nails for hanging things...really classy I know, but it needed to be done.

Don't mind the tiny pile of laundry on the floor...it was getting put in right away!

I really want to put some of those modular storage cubes that have options for shoe spots, shelves, cubby's etc...Target use to have them years ago but I don't think they do anymore...Anyone know where to get that type of thing? I want them for the Laundry Room.

Next...."The Craft Room"

Gross Car? Utahn? Check.It.OUT!

 Mother’s Day CAR DETAIL Contest.
(AKA WHO HAS THE GROSSEST MOM-CAR?)

Mine is not Grotesque, but still could use some scrubbing love!
I have dried formula spilled all down the side of the seats, crumbs from treats and happy meals crusted into another seat, probably $10 worth of coins under the front seats, dirt in the very back where the stroller comes in and out, and the outside is caked with a wintery salty film!

These photos are of my car...Like I said...It's not horrific, but, Hey, I would still love to have it all spiffed up for me!

 Formula!

FULL DETAIL ($200 Value).

Here’s how it works:
Step 1 - Submit a picture of your "Mom-Car" to any (or all) participating Larry H. Miller dealership's Facebook page.

Tinkerbell Birthday Party

I don't have many projects that I'm working on right now because I am trying to get all my stuff done for my daughters 3 year old birthday party. It's in a couple weeks, and it's going to be a Tinkerbell theme. If any of you have done a Tinkerbell theme party before I would LOVE some inspiration from you guys.

My plans are to make bunting in Tinkerbell colors, tutu's for the girls to wear at the party, cupcake toppers, goodie boxes for the girls, Maybe some tissue balls hanging from the ceiling (But I've had those fail for me)...Anything else?? Any tips on those things??

DIY Activity Puzzles

My oldest daughter gets so bored in church and I'm always trying to come up with new ideas to keep her quiet and busy. Another mom I know had made these 'puzzles' for her girls.

You can adapt this concept to use any pictures that will keep your kid happy and quiet and busy. I chose to use Religious pictures because that is what I would like my daughter focusing on while in church.

I bought these Magnetic Sheets but they weren't what I thought...I thought that the white would peel off and be sticky so I could adhere the pictures, but they didn't peel. So I had to Modge Podge my pictures onto the sheets of magnet.

They were kind of bubbling with the Modge Podge so I had to weight them down while they dried.
Then I cut them up...You could probably get more creative with your cutting designs but I went for simple.
You can go to the thrift store and buy a small cookie sheet and use it as a magnet board and stick it in your church bag.

Planting Garden's, 5k's, Disney on Ice!

Thank you to Log Cabin for sponsoring my post about updated traditions in my household. To learn more about Log Cabin Syrups (which are all free of High Fructose Corn Syrup), breakfast for dinner, and other new ways to update traditions in your home, click here. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

What in the WORLD do those things in the title have to do with each other you ask?!?

Traditions!

Back in March my husband took our 2 year old on their first Official "Date Night."
Disney on Ice!
We prepped and prepared my daughter for about a week telling her that she was going to be seeing all her favorite characters and going to dinner and having a night with dad!
She was so excited!
It was a great turn out for her and we plan to make it an annual event that they do together (without mom) every year. This is such a fun event that they will always remember Dad taking them (I say them because when the other kids get older they will be able to go along too).

Bad pictures due to bad lighting inside the arena and cell phone camera and hubby as the picture taker.

This summer will be our third year planting a garden. This is like my favorite thing EVER!
It's so fun to plant seeds and watch them grow and produce Fruit's and Veggies!
Then when we have an overload of veggies, we walk around the neighborhood with the wagon and give it to our neighbors. Talk about putting a smile on peoples faces!
(last years garden L to R: Zucchini, Tomato, Peppers, Green Beans, Carrots, Onions, Pumpkins)

And one that I decided on this year that will be happening in a few weeks is a local
5k event.
Me and my husband are not runners, but I thought it would be so much fun to get out the double stroller and walk/jog the 5k together with our kids and then they have TONS of kids activities during the day...Face painting, bounce houses, barn yard animal birthday party, food vendors, music, etc.
So I signed us up and it's going to be a day full of Family Fun!

A couple other things we do: During the summer months our street has a block party every month (neighbors take turns hosting), Attend the church 4th of July Breakfast at a local park, Family Nights on Mondays, Sugar Cookies on Valentines Day, etc.
I love holiday traditions, but what are some of your more unusual traditions?

I'm thankful to the Clever Girls Collective for letting me write this post!
