{Pottery Barn-Inspired} Moss Monogram

I originally saw the Moss covered monogram in my Pottery Barn catalog. I knew I wanted to try to do it but I didn't know how I would get the close shaved look of the moss. THEN I stumbled upon Two Twenty One and she taught me that there is such a thing as Moss Sheets. Her monograms turned out really cute (she's using her's for her wedding).

So I bought my "S" at Hobby Lobby for less than $2
Moss Sheet from Hobby Lobby
Hot Glue/Gun

traced my "S" with an extra 1/2 inch to glue onto the side and back on the letter.
Hot glued it on and the edges too.

Added a ribbon and hung it on my dining room hutch.

My Monogram "S" (mine, less than $5)

Pottery Barn's monogram "S" (theirs $79)

I think mine looks just as good.

Easter Decorations & more thrifting!

Here are my Easter decorations thus far, I still have basically 3 1/2 weeks to go though.

These are my Thrift finds from yesterday. Went to Salvation Army. Got this cute Tea Cup and Saucer $3.00 and the cute Pyrex dishes for $5.00 for both. They are about 3 in x 4 in x 4 in. They are small and I love that! I love the turquoise.

{Thrift Find}

On Saturday I decided I wanted to go to a thrift shop and left my kids at home with my husband so I could take my time. I got there and within minutes saw this LARGE Silver punch bowl. I looked at the tag and it said SEVENTY Dollars! What! $70 for a punch bowl at a Thrift Store?!? I was so bugged!
So I went and asked the manager if they could lower the price at all. This particular thrift store has different colored tags and every week a different color is half off, the manager told me that that colored tag would be half off on Monday (2 days from then) I was really excited so I left it there. I told my friend about it and she said she would have her husband go and be there at the store when it opened on Monday morning for me. So Monday rolled around and after I thought about it ALL weekend I was on pins and needles to see if I got it. He called me and said he found it and was buying it! The person ringing him up said that someone else had called about it that morning...Whew! Someone else was on the trail too!

So he came later that day and dropped it off! A beauty if you ask me!

It's 10 inches tall and 14 inches wide. It's going to take me a year to polish it up! I post pictures when it's all finished.

Tea Set

I collect Tea Set's. I have about 15-20 sets. They are from all over. I have whole sets and then a few cups and saucers. I love Tea Sets. They are so cute and quaint.
It's really a hobby that my mom started for me. I was very little when she started buying them for me and then I grew into it. I have not bought many for myself as an adult and don't display any of them because I don't have a proper place and I'm afraid they will get broken if I put any of them out.

How cute would these be at an Easter table!

What are some collections your have?

The Loves of my Life

I'm really glad last night is over! I FINALLY caved and excepted the fact that my oldest daughter is old enough and smart enough to sleep in a "Big Girl" bed. Last night was the first night, She did Awesome. Never got out of bed once, not even in the morning when she woke up. She just sat in bed and read books until I came and got her (This is what she did in her crib). She just didn't realize that she could just get out.

I love my girls so much they keep me on my toes and make life so fun and interesting and fulfilling.

This morning they have been playing in the princess "tent."
I love the picture below, the crown is perfectly positioned above my daughters head.

Sorry for the lack of craftiness project goodness today...I just had to share my TRUE love!

Cosmic Shopipng #2 & A New Piece of Furniture

I've been so excited about getting this bench! it's not new...in fact, it's very old. It comes from the Utah State Capitol Building. My husbands Grandmother worked there and they must have been doing renovations and updating so they were getting rid of these "old" benches and putting new seating in. My husbands Grandmother took one.
There is a long story to go with the bench (which I won't tell now) but low and behold it now resides at our house and I couldn't be more happy!

Now for my cosmic shopping of last week. They almost always happen at Target, as does this one too.
These were both clearance items!

{Target Gift Card Winner}

OK, Here is the winner for the $35 Target Gift Card.

I Just want you to know that it was Random.Org that picked the Winner, not me!
Amy Coltrin is the winner and Amy is my Sister!
She totally deserves it because she was my first fan and maybe my biggest fan!
I can truly say that she has been so great spreading the word about my blog.

Congrats to her!
(truth be told, I'm glad I don't have to pay for shipping to give it to her)

Thanks for all the new followers, keep spreading the word and I think we will have another giveaway in the near future .

Also, I am starting to take sponsors. If any of you are looking into that I would love to discuss it!

Craft Fail??

I bought these three items at Hobby Lobby several weeks ago on their 80% off clearance. They were all really good deals. But they were gold'ish/brassy ugly colors. Hence the 80% off prices on them.

My intention: To spray paint them white and decorate with them.

I Primed first...I swear! It's cracking, and there is still a yellow hint.

The "Q" turned out really well! I will put that in my daughters room, her name is "Quincie"
I love having a Q name in the family because "Q's" are always on clearance.
