Heaven Hosts Singing

Yesterday a Angel in the form of a FedEx man came to my door and rang my doorbell.

As soon as the Angel had come he was gone again by the time I got to my door, but in his wake was left the most lovely cardboard box. Ever!

As I opened the box, I heard a faint choir of heavenly hosts singing.

Lo and Behold....my Silhouette I had asked for for my birthday was staring back at me!

I un-packaged it with care. Taking in all the glory of the machine.

Thanks to my husband who was so nice to buy me the birthday present I really wanted!
What a great guy!

Ok...So now, I have to figure out how to use it and make Amazing projects for all of you for your viewing pleasure.

Container Gardening

I love gardening! I learned all I know from my mom!
She is a master gardener.

I want to do more Container Gardening this year. I love the beauty of all the pots out there available.

Things to know when you are planting containers.

Something tall and "showy" in the middle
Then something medium height around the tall item
Then long low trailing vine type stuff around the edges of the pot so it will 'spill' over the container.

Use different types of pots for interest.

I love all the "greens" in this picture.

Don't be afraid to do different things!

It's my birthday today and every year I ask my husband to stay home and watch the kids while I go yard saleing ( i don't know what the correct spelling is for yard saleing but nothings popping up).

I love this metal basket, and I love the wooden handle on it! $1
I got this large rug for when our basement is finished...will put it in the playroom. $7
Needs a seriuos cleaning.

This Summers List

If you can't go here this summer...

Then try out this list of things to keep you busy.

Digital Reflections has a very sweet list of 100 FREE things to do with kids this summer.

Here's just a few that are on the list but you will have to go Here for the WHOLE list.

50. Check your craft stores for make and take craft projects (Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc.).
51. Tour a factory.
52. Make musical instruments and become a 'home band' sensation! (think - pie pan tamborine, papertowl holder rain stick, string and cereal box guitar) - dont forget to dress the part!
53. Make tye die shirts. (play some groovy tunes, too)
54. Take a picnic to dad/mom/grandma/ etc... give them a nice break from their work day.
55. Make a tent in the living room.
56. Go to an Arboretum.

I will be printing, laminating, framing, praising this list all summer long. Gotta keep a 3 yr old and 1 yr old busy and happy.

{The TinkerBell Party} Part 2

For food we ate Pizza and Grapes and then we had the cupcakes for dessert.
I rented a bounce house for SUPER cheap and had the girls "Fly Like Fairies Fly"
And then we made "Fairy Houses"
I found on a Disney website this fun activity to make cute fairy houses, just like in TinkerBell and the Great Fairy Rescue the movie.

I didn't get pictures of the me girls decorating the houses because I was so preoccupied trying to keep the girls interested and moving the party along at a good pace.

Then I had goodie boxes for the girls when they walked out the door and not a minute sooner...I didn't want them opening it at my house and having to round up all the little things again.

So, the party was a success in my eyes!

{The Bounce House}

 The Birthday Girl

{The Gift Boxes}
The Dollar store had TONS of Tinkerbell stuff...So I just loaded up on anything and everything Tinkerbell. There was only 4 girls to buy for and alot of the stuff came in packs anyway...so I didn't have to spend much. The M&M's was Easter Candy but it was the right colors so I used it anyway.

This was a little ring that was a stamp too...not a great picture of the actual stamp part.
 Pixie Sticks = Pixie Dust

 $1 flower pens from Target

{The Fairy Houses}

 My daughters finished house
I just went to the scrapbook section and bought tons of embellishments so the girls could glue them on to the houses.
 Waiting for fairies to come

We tried lots of different spots, just in case one was better than the other.

So I hope you liked the party, and if you do a fairy party too, I would love to see what you do or what things you do the same!

{The TinkerBell Party} Part 1

I was gone last weekend for 5 days traveling due to a family funeral.

When I got home I was left with FOUR days to get the Tinkerbell Party completely finished.

It was a little crazy and my family may or may not have suffered in the wake of all the Tulle and Scrapbook Paper and Stickers and Hot Glue. But luckily the next day was Mother's Day and I got a nice day off...kinda.

So OK, here is the rundown on the Tinkerbell Party.

I made Tutu's for the girls. I bought rolls of Tulle at Hobby Lobby and just did a simple loop around some elastic and made the tutu's. They were probably around $5 each. The poster on the table was from a Dollar Store. Also...the Dollar store had paper Butterflies that I used as wings for the girls to wear, we just pinned them on to their shirts.

I used scrapbooking paper to cut out the paper bunting, used a paper punch and strung it on purple ribbon.

I had the cupcakes done at a local bakery, Swirly Girls, but I made the toppers...scrapbook paper, and there was a package of chip board Tinkerbell stuff so I cut off her legs and glued her onto the toppers...I thought they turned out SO cute!
